Jens van ‘t Klooster

Jens van ‘t Klooster is an assistant professor for political economy at the University of Amsterdam’s Department of Political Science.

He holds a PhD in philosophy from the University of Cambridge and in economic policy from the University of Groningen.

Jens’ research focuses on the governance of financial markets, with a specific focus on how climate change and new macroprudential ideas are reshaping the role of central bankers and banking supervisors. His research is multidisciplinary and spans perspectives from international political economy, economics, history, law, and philosophy.

Jens is currently a visiting fellow at LSE’s Grantham Research Institute on climate change and the environment.
